Merit x PIF · Demo v2 plan · v1.2, 28 Sep 2026 · internal, for Brian, Tamer, Albadarneh, Izzeddin
On 25 Sep Julie called the current demo a good start that is too narrow, and said it reads like Resal or Walaa Plus. This plan rebuilds the session around Merit as the orchestration engine. It gives the flow in presenting order, what each scene shows and why, today's demo next to the new one, and what is real today.
Today PIF sees an employee app with its logo on it. Next time PIF sees its own currency, its companies selling through it, and the same offers reaching buyers outside PIF.
The session walks this picture from left to right. Today's demo shows only the top-right box. Tamer's wording applies: the engine displays and orchestrates value. It does not store value.
| Today (v1, 25 Sep) | Next (v2) | |
|---|---|---|
| Story | One employee, Ahmad, uses an offers app | PIF runs a programme: its own currency, its companies as sellers, its employees as the first market |
| Hero | The employee | PIF's programme team, then a PIF company, then the employee |
| Base | Clickable HTML of the employee app only | One expanded clickable prototype: Super Platform control center, LMS, Seller Portal, the employee app, the Al Fursan shelf. Real products copy their current look; the rest is labelled "coming" |
| Format | A 30-click walkthrough | In person. A deck carries the story; the prototype runs inside it for the parts that need to be seen |
| Look | English, icons, generic Merit purple | Arabic first with an English toggle, Saudi look, real imagery (Albadarneh and the Jordan office) |
| Scope | Inside PIF only | Inside PIF (POC) plus outside PIF: a PIF company shelf in Al Fursan and SAB |
| Admin | One PIF admin screen at the end, PIF types offers for its companies | Each PIF company onboards itself in the Seller Portal. PIF sees results in its dashboard |
| Money | Discounts for employees | Revenue for PIF companies and for PIF: sales into other channels, and a revenue share on what members buy |
| Ends on | PIF admin dashboard | Revenue created for PIF, then the phases: PIF first, subsidiaries next, outside channels after |
Eight scenes, in person. The deck carries the story. The prototype runs in scenes 1 to 4 and part of 6. Click a scene to jump to it.
Before = a real screenshot of today's demo. After = a sketch of the target screen, not a design. Every screen is prototype. The chips say whether the product behind it is real today. Legend: Real product today: prototype copies it Prototype screen to build Not real yet: label it "coming" Open question
No frame. The demo opens straight on an SMS to Ahmad. The only framing line is in the BRD: "One identity, every program. This is Merit ID."
The viewer first meets Merit as a phone app. That is the Resal comparison.
Not in today's demo. Super Platform, LMS, innovation, e-commerce and Travel Shop do not appear. The demo "doesn't touch LMS" (Brian, on the call).
PIF only appears at the end, as a viewer of a pre-built programme. There is no step where PIF creates its currency, tiers or budget.
A PIF admin types an offer into one modal for the company. No self-onboarding, no merchandise, no gift cards, one validity date only.
English only. Gift cards are noon, Jarir, Panda and Jahez, not PIF companies. Offers use colour blocks, not images. The spouse gets the cap.
Arabic in the sketch is placeholder copy. Albadarneh and the Jordan office own the final Arabic and the Saudi look.
Missions for completing a profile and a step count. The step count needs the app. No recognition and no sales incentive.
Enrolment, redemptions and points spent. It measures an HR benefit. Nothing shows revenue, and nothing leaves PIF.
Everything on screen is prototype. Tamer's rule from the call: show only what exists as real, and label the rest. Rows marked red carry a "coming" label on screen.

The wording carries half of Julie's feedback, so it is part of the plan.
"PIF runs its programmes on the Merit Engagement Engine. You create your currency, your companies sell through it, and the same system earns revenue for them inside and outside PIF."
Super Platform is "the control center". Tamer's wording on value: the engine is "displaying value and orchestrating". Never "storing value", never "wallet". Lead with revenue, not discounts.
| Resal | Walaa Plus | Merit for PIF | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who starts it | The user signs up alone | Employers join; Aramco and STV fund it | PIF owns the programme and its currency |
| What it is | Gift card top-up | Offers aggregation | Programme engine plus marketplace |
| Spend | Gift cards | Discounts | Points on gift cards, merchandise and offers |
| PIF companies | Buy gift cards | List offers | Sell inside and outside PIF, and earn from it |
| People programmes | No | No | Sales incentive today; recognition coming |
Competitor facts are as stated on the 25 and 28 Sep calls. Check them before this table goes near PIF.
Ahmad, your Tamayuz membership from [employer] is ready. Offers from PIF companies are waiting. Activate: merit.sa/t/8Kq2
Sender ID: the programme name. Arabic version from Albadarneh. The employer name comes from the HR file.
Avoid "Walaa", the competitor's word. Albadarneh checks tone.
| Cut | Reason |
|---|---|
| A live "demo test PIF" instance | Most of the story does not exist on Super Platform yet. Branding each product needs other teams, and Brian expects that to bring overcomplicated requirements. One prototype is faster and the team can build it alone. |
| A 30-click walkthrough | The deck carries the story. The prototype shows only what needs to be seen. |
| "PIF has invited you" SMS | Not how PIF speaks. Replaced by the programme name and the employer. |
| Step-count mission | Needs the native app. Replaced by the Sales Incentive tab and recognition slide. |
| Offers as the lead item | Offers make no money. Gift cards and merchandise from PIF companies lead. |
| noon, Jarir, Panda, Jahez gift cards up front | Makes Merit look like a gift-card shop. PIF company gift cards lead. |
| PIF admin typing offers for companies | Replaced by onboarding in the Seller Portal. |
| Spouse cap | Julie: the cap applies to children only. |
| # | Step | Owner |
